Before you list a new product, review Kogan’s product compliance guidelines, which include:
You should also review Kogan’s restricted product list.
3. Create a product listing
Your product listing should accurately reflect what is being sold. It should be effective enough to encourage customers to make a purchase.
Here are the main elements to include in your product listing:
Product title: It should be concise and clearly showcase the name of the product
Images: The hero product image should be on a plain background with no branding or text. You can add up to 8 images to each product listing
Product description: It should provide a detailed summary of the main product features and benefits
4. Shipping
Marketplace sellers on Kogan have to manage shipping on their own. By partnering with local logistics companies, you can decide on the shipping rates for different types of products.
It’s possible to add three types of shipping rates to products:
Free shipping, where you charge zero extra fees for shipping and order fulfilment. Instead, you can include the shipping cost in the product cost.
Flat fee per unit is where you charge a fixed price for shipping each unit of product.
Variable shipping rate, which can depend on the weight and price of the product or the location where you need to ship the product.
5. Collecting payments
Kogan manages the payments on behalf of the sellers. After deducting the relevant commissions, the payouts are sent to sellers in their bank accounts.
The payment schedule for payouts is usually as follows:
- Invoices generated on the 1st of every month include orders that are dispatched from the 15-31st of the last month
- Invoices generated on the 15th of every month include orders that are dispatched from 1st to 14th of the same month
The actual payment date may not be the same as the invoice generation date. Payment dates can vary depending on weekends or public holidays.
